Our Beliefs

This ESSAY is designed to help explain what I believe in the regards to our faith in THE heavenly Father. I am a seekers of truth who is currently walking a righteous path that has been lost over the generations of tradition and corruption. The Protestant Reformation led many believers’ into some greater understanding of God’s word. God / Elohim is still in the process of reforming His children.

I do not claim to have all the truth, but I am trying to obey the truth that I understand so that I might be given more UNDERSTANDING of God’s truths. Please consider the information contained in this essay, do your own research to prove or disprove, and feel free to contact me with your thoughts on it.

“Thy Word Is Truth” (John 17:17b)

First and foremost, in my search for truth I have concluded that the scriptures (commonly called the 66 Book Christian Bible) contains the truth that I must be seeking.

“...Cursed is the man who trusts in man…” (Jeremiah 17:5)

Though there are many different beliefs among those who claim to follow these scriptures, what would happen if someone set aside thousands of years of tradition, corruption, and watered down faith, and just went straight to scripture as their source of truth?

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.” (Mt 10:28)

What if this same person decided that they were not going to care what people thought of them if they found something that was quite unusual or out of the main-stream? This has been my endeavor and would like to share it with you. I have found many things in Scripture that are not normally accepted. But first:

Salvation

“Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?” (Proverbs 20:9)

“Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1 Peter 1:18)

I absolutely do believe that we have all sinned and are in need of salvation through the Messiah / Christ. Without Him, we are lost and without hope. We need to apply His blood to our lives for the forgiveness of sins.  We do not need anything else.  Our works or animal sacrifices will not take care of our sin.

“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” 1 John 2:6

He is the sure foundation and ROCK of our salvation. He sets the EXAMPLE that we must follow.

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18b)

Because all power in heaven and earth has been given to Him, Yeshua (Jesus), He is worthy of our praise and honor. Any efforts of love / obedience on our part are in RESPONSE to the Father’s love for us in giving us His Son, Yeshua. (John 3:16)

Forms of Transliterated (Hebrew Pronunciation with English Characters) names of Jesus I have heard and studies and heard are as follows: Joshua, Yeshua, Yahshua, Yahusha, Yahushua, Yehoshua.

Forms of Transliterated names of the Father (substituted as LORD) that I have heard are: Jehovah, Yehovah, Yahweh, Yahuah, Yahuwah, Yehowah.

The actual characters of the Hebrew language look different than what is above, but the awesome thing is that the English language allows us to replicate the what it “may” have sounded like. There is so much poetry and word plays in the inspired Hebrew texts that many of us American believers are ignorant of, and, to ignore the foundation of our faith, a Hebrew Jewish Savior, is to ignore the context and culture Jesus was raised in.

Did He or did He not break God our Father’s law? Or did He show us the proper context in which we are to keep the law out of love because of His redeeming grace and mercy He demonstrated to humanity at His death, burial, and resurrection?

I believe it is important for the child of God in any denomination to become aware of the foundation of our faith in Christ are found in the Hebrew Canon and the Greek / Aramaic Letters to the Church. Sometimes, English translations miss the mark.

Paul, a sent one, (apostle) said this:

Rom 3:1-4 ASV What advantage then hath the Jew? or what is the profit of circumcision? (2) Much every way: first of all, that they were intrusted with the oracles of God. (3) For what if some were without faith? shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God? (4) God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

As you can see, going back to the inspired texts, we can now gain greater understanding of the bible. To nullify or invalidate Our Heavenly Father’s law / torah, is to ignore and disobey His teachings that He would have us obey and apply to our lives. Not to produce our salvation / deliverance, but as a by product of our faith in Jesus, the Christ / Yeshua, the Messiah.

My current belief system

I believe in the whole counsel of the LORD / YeHoWaH.

The Messiah said:

Matthew 13:52 KJV “Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old."

Paul, the sent one said:

2Ti 3:14-17 ASV But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them. (15) And that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. (17) That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

Contrary to popular belief, there is not a single line of scripture to support the abolishment or taking away of YHWH’s law in the “Old Testament.” In fact, we have found that new testament scriptures support the keeping of His law.

The Christ / Anointed One even warned us:

Matthew 5:17-19 KJV “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Fulfil means to “do”, not abolish or destroy. For instance, if we asked someone to bring us a glass of water and they did it, then they “fulfilled” what we asked them to do. “Fulfill” does not mean “abolish” or “destroy”. In fact, that would be a contradiction of what He just said (“Think not I am come to destroy the law”).

Rather, we are told that whoever does and teaches “these commandments” within the law will “be called great in the kingdom of heaven”.

There are many other scriptures in the “New Testament” that confirm this.

Here are a couple more:

Romans 2:12 KJV “For not the hearers of the Law are just in the sight of Yehowah, but the doers of the Law will be justified”

Romans 3:31 KJV “Do we then make void the Law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the Law.”

I believe in doing the law and establishing the law by faith. The Law wasn’t just for the Israelite or Judean. In fact, the Old Covenant isn’t race or nationality dependent any more than the New Covenant is:

Jer. 31:31, Hebrews 8:8 KJV “Behold, the days come, saith YHWH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith YHWH: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YHWH, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God / Elohim, and they shall be my people.”

So scripture says that the New Covenant (Testament – in KJV) is also with Israel & Judah. In the New Covenant, His law is to be written in our hearts and minds.

Q: But how can we claim His law is in our hearts and minds if we are disobedient to it?

For these reasons and much more, we want to show our love toward YHWH by desiring to keep His whole word, meaning the parts we can and are instructed to do so.

A few examples are:

  1. Keeping the Sabbath on the original day (the 7th day, commonly called Saturday),
  2. Turning our hearts to our children (Mal. 4:6),
  3. Walking in “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance” (Gal. 5:22-23),
  4. Women maintaining long hair for her covering (1 Cor. 11) Men to keep their hair short, (to promote the distinction between male and female)
  5. Women being keepers at home if she is married and has children.

In short, I believe that God the Father’s word is true, His word is applicable, and His word is to be heeded, no matter what year it was written in.

Revelation 14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YHWH, and the faith of Yeshua.

So we neither rest in the keeping of His commandments alone, nor believing in Yeshua alone. The truth is in both. Yeshua kept the whole law, as He alone was and is perfect. What would Yeshua do (WWYD)? That is what we believe. That is what we seek. Doing what Jesus, the Christ did.
